Samsung Rolls Out One UI 5 Beta 3 Seemingly Cloning iOS 16 Lock Screen

Samsung could officially launch the stable One UI 5 in the coming days.
Samsung appears to have started rolling out One UI 5 beta 3 this week. The update adds support for customised icons in third-party apps, as well as faster animations. The new lock screen customization choices, which look to use the same approach as those in Apple's iOS 16, appear to be the feature that stands out. One of the most talked-about features of iOS 16 when it was released earlier this month was undoubtedly the revamped Lock Screen.
A tweet from Vaibhav Jain (@vvaiibhav) of the TechDroider YouTube channel claims that Samsung's One UI 5 beta 3 update allegedly clones the Lock Screen feature of iOS 16 for Android devices. Users can access the customization interface by long-pressing the screen, which looks quite similar to the layout offered in iOS 16.

In contrast to iOS 16's eight available clock styles, Samsung users can choose from five here. The font style and colour of the clock can also be changed. Both systems provide a "Collection" of backgrounds with a comparable layout when choosing wallpapers.
Jain and other Twitter users quickly pointed out that similar functions were previously present in the Samsung Good Lock app. They ascribe the original cloning of the layout to Apple. Apple supporters assert that after the release of iOS 16 and the Lock Screen, Samsung only made the decision to offer these capabilities natively.
Registrations for the One UI 5.0 beta for the Galaxy S21 series from Samsung have just started in India. According to reports, One UI 5.0 beta upgrades for the Galaxy S22 series began in August. All of these improvements may indicate that Samsung will soon release the official stable One UI 5.0 update.
