Binance to Set Up Regional Office in Kazakhstan, Intends to Co-Develop Crypto Laws
Binance has been taking efforts to expand its crypto literacy and training programme among law-enforcement officers around the world.
With the goal of promoting the crypto and Web3 cultures, the Binance cryptocurrency exchange and the government of Kazakhstan have inked an agreement. The Financial Monitoring Agency of Kazakhstan is interested in hearing from Binance on how to frame regulations for the cryptocurrency industry. Both organisations intend to focus on illegal activity related to the virtual digital assets (VDAs) industry. The Block reports that Kazakhstan would serve as the location of Binance's regional office, where staff members will collaborate on developing the region's crypto legislation.
Binance has been working to increase the number of law enforcement officials who participate in its crypto training programme. This initiative will be launched across the region, which is home to many cryptocurrency miners, through its base in Kazakhstan.
Binance will link police officers from all over the world to knowledgeable Web3 experts who will provide trainings on how to combat potential crypto crimes as well as how to deal with the fallout as part of the "Global Law Enforcement Training Programme."
Just two months ago, in August, Binance—which strives to be the world's most licenced cryptocurrency exchange—entered the Kazakhstan market.
The Astana Financial Services Authority issued the company the necessary licences.
Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of Binance, met Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev back in May.
In order to support the Web3 boom, the exchange behemoth also entered into a contract with Kazakhstan's Ministry of Digital Development at the time.
In the meantime, Zhao's seven million Twitter followers have seen his joy about the development.
Binance is also working with Nigeria to create a special economic zone that will be supported by the cryptocurrency industry. The Nigerian cryptocurrency hub will be the only one of its kind in all of West Africa. This initiative is also being supported by the Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA).
