Surface Pro 9 With 12th Gen Intel CPUs, Optional 5G Support Revealed at Microsoft Surface October Event

 



Surface Pro 9 gets both Intel and Arm-powered versions.


Microsoft made the Surface Pro 9 official today at the company's Surface October event. The most recent product from Microsoft has a number of new features, including improved processors and a few new colours. Additionally, the Surface Pro 9 is available with both Intel and Arm processors. Microsoft has announced a 5G model with Microsoft SQ 3 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon in addition to the 12th Gen Intel i5 and i7 choices.

Today, Microsoft introduced two variations of the Surface Pro 9. Beginning this month, customers will be able to purchase both types. For those who are interested in purchasing the latest Surface model, pre-orders for the tablet are currently open.

The price for the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage option of the Surface Pro 9 Wi-Fi with 12th Gen Intel i5 will start at $999.99 (about Rs. 82,280), while the price range for the 12th Gen Intel i7 with 16GB RAM and 256GB storage starts at $1,599.99. (nearly Rs. 1,31,600). However, the cost of the aforementioned RAM and storage options for commercial use with the 12th Gen Intel i5 and i7 processors is $100 more expensive (nearly Rs. 8,200).



On the other side, Surface Pro 9 5G variants are somewhat pricey, with the consumer model's 8GB RAM + 128GB storage starting at $1,299.99 (about Rs. 1,06,900) and the business model starting at $1,399.99. (nearly Rs. 1,15,100).

Specifics for the Surface Pro 9


The addition of both Intel and Arm-based CPUs on the Surface Pro 9 represents the biggest improvement over its predecessors. The Surface Pro 9 with 5G, which uses the Microsoft SQ3 CPU, is an option for users, in addition to the Surface Pro 9 Wi-Fi variant with Intel processors.



Qualcomm guarantees that the Microsoft SQ3 will outperform the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 by 85% in terms of CPU performance and 60% in terms of GPU performance. The tablet will come with the Windows 11 Home operating system for consumer use.  while Windows 11 Pro will be available for business use.

While the 5G variants can handle up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage, the Wi-Fi models have up to 32GB RAM and 1TB storage. A 13-inch PixelSense Flow display with a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels and a dynamic refresh rate of up to 120Hz is available on the Surface Pro 9.



While the Surface Pro 9 5G variant can support Intel Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Beidou, NanoSIM, and eSIM, the Surface Pro 9 Wi-Fi variations support Intel Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.1.
