Mobec Innovations Introduces Doorstep EV Charging Solution, Starting in Delhi-NCR
Mobec Innovations, a startup specializing in electric mobility solutions, has announced the launch of its doorstep electric vehicle (EV) charging service. The service aims to provide convenient charging facilities for EV owners right at their doorstep. Initially, the service will cater to over 2 lakh EV users in the Delhi-NCR region and can be booked through Mobec Innovation's dedicated mobile application.
By the end of the first quarter of the fiscal year 2023-24, Mobec Innovations plans to expand its operations to Tier-I cities across India, including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Lucknow, and Jaipur, among others. The company aims to address the challenges of accessibility, availability, and infrastructure insufficiency that hinder widespread EV adoption in these cities.
According to Mobec Innovations' Founder and CEO, Harry Bajaj, the company has received a strong response from consumers in Delhi-NCR. This positive feedback has motivated the company to invest in expanding its services to major metropolitan areas. By providing doorstep charging facilities, Mobec Innovations aims to offer a practical solution for EV owners who face challenges in accessing reliable and convenient charging infrastructure.
Mobec Innovations' mobile charging vans are equipped with fast charging technology, enabling them to achieve an optimum 80 percent charge level within a short period. This fast and efficient charging process ensures that EV owners can conveniently charge their vehicles without the long waiting times typically associated with slower charging methods.
The introduction of doorstep EV charging services aligns with the ongoing efforts of the Delhi transport department and the Delhi Electric Vehicle (EV) cell to promote electric mobility in the city. The city's electric vehicle policy, which will soon complete three years, has achieved significant milestones, with around 86 percent of its measures and targets accomplished thus far. As part of further initiatives, the department and the EV cell have initiated the process of drafting a revised "Delhi EV Policy 2.0," incorporating stakeholder consultations.
Delhi has made substantial progress in expanding its charging infrastructure, boasting over 4,300 charging points and 256 battery swapping stations across 2,500+ locations, as highlighted by N. Mohan, CEO of the Delhi EV cell. Additionally, the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has plans to increase the number of EV charging stations in Lutyens' Delhi and even introduce battery swapping facilities at select locations.
The introduction of Mobec Innovations' doorstep EV charging service in Delhi-NCR marks a significant step toward enhancing the charging infrastructure for EVs. As the company expands its services to other major cities in India, it is expected to contribute to the growth and adoption of electric mobility across the country. With convenient and accessible charging options, EV owners will have greater confidence in switching to electric vehicles, ultimately driving India's transition toward a sustainable and greener future.
