Metaverse Technology Will Contribute Heavily to Automotive Industry Next Year, Nvidia Says

The metaverse technology revolves around making online experiences more immersive and interactive, where humans can exist, work, and meet as digital avatars.

According to Nvidia, metaverse technology will influence forthcoming developments in the automotive sector beginning in 2023. According to a US multinational corporation, automobile industries will soon start incorporating metaverse elements into their retail and production processes in order to appeal to the next wave of businesses and consumers. Companies like Meta, Alphabet, and Microsoft have all made investments in this field. The metaverse technology revolves around making online experiences more immersive and interactive, where humans can reside, work, and meet as digital avatars.

In an official post, Nvidia stated that "full-fidelity, real-time car configurators, 3D models of autos, augmented reality presentations, and virtual test drives all help bring the vehicle to the buyer."

Automotive industry participants anticipate stepping up their monitoring of the vehicle manufacturing process as a result of the metaverse. By doing so, they would be able to make and apply changes and revisions before it's too late.

On the other hand, incorporating elements of the metaverse into conventional business practises could strengthen the bond between customers and businesses while they remain in the comfort of their own homes.

A variety of new entertainment technologies, such as digital assistants, occupant monitoring, AV visualisation, video conferencing, and more are now possible thanks to advancements in AI and in-vehicle computation, the blog added.

According to research projections, the business opportunity for the metaverse might total $800 billion (approximately Rs. 59,58,700 crore) during the next two years.

The metaverse technology has been receiving support and financing from numerous organisations and nations throughout the world.

The parent company of The Sandbox metaverse, Animoca Brands, said earlier this month that it will be launching a $2 billion (approximately Rs. 16,260 crore) mega-fund just for the metaverse industry.

The creation of a national metaverse project in South Korea received KRW 223.7 billion (about Rs. 1,400 crore) in funding in February from Seoul's Ministry of Science, ICT, and Future Planning.

Other tech firms are prepared to stake a large wager on the technology, much like Nvidia.

In an effort to hasten the development of Extended Reality, chipmaker Qualcomm set aside the Snapdragon Metaverse Fund, a fund of $100 million (approximately Rs. 760 crore), in March technology.
